Tourists will have to abandon their e-cigarettes before entering Hong Kong, as the city prepares to roll out a blanket ban on alternative smoking products, with a maximum penalty of six months' imprisonment and a fine of HK$50,000 (US$6,370).
A bill to amend the Smoking Ordinance, targeting e-cigarettes, heat-not-burn products and herbal cigarettes, was submitted to the Legislative Council by the government on Wednesday and will have its first reading on February 20.
