Hong Kong basked in its warmest day this year as temperatures soared past 30 degrees Celsius in parts of Kowloon and the New Territories on Sunday afternoon.
The Observatory cited the influence of a southerly airstream over the coast of Guangdong, which was bringing hotter than usual weather to the region.
In Yuen Long, maximum temperatures shot up as high as 31.4 degrees and the thermometer also went past 30 in Lau Fau Shan, Sheung Shui, Shek Kong and Tsuen Wan around mid-afternoon.
