An amber rainstorm warning was cancelled shortly after noon on Thursday, two and a half hours after it was raised.
The Hong Kong Observatory had issued the alert at 9.40am, warning of heavy rain and the possibility of flooding in low-lying and poorly drained areas. Gusts as strong as 70km/h were also expected.
