Hongkongers have been advised to get their wide-brimmed hats and loose-fitting clothes out ahead of a five-day heatwave set to hit the city over the next five days.
The Hong Kong Observatory issued the very hot weather warning at 6.45am on Tuesday, with temperatures reaching 32.8 degrees at the Wetland Park in Tin Shui Wai – a new town in northwestern New Territories. The mercury is expected to soar to 33 degrees or above for most of the week.
