Retailers selling or supplying alcohol to minors could be fined as much as HK$50,000 under a government plan to tighten regulations and protect the health of the city’s young people.
An amendment of the Dutiable Commodities Ordinance, which is intended to close a loophole which allows retailers and vendors to sell alcohol to adolescents, will cover both face-to-face and remote sales.
