More than 70 per cent of children’s swimming supplies in Hong Kong do not meet European safety standards, putting kids at the risk of drowning or suffering from skin irritations, the city’s consumer watchdog has found.The Consumer Council found that all 22 products tested contained naphthalene – classified as a possible carcinogenic substance – with concentrations ranging between 0.2 and 4.3mg/kg.Six products in the study were in excess of the 2mg/kg limits of naphthalene recommended by the…
